Edgar's Day At Hull

It was very much David Edgar's day at Hull last Saturday. He brought the Clarets level with two goals in two minutes, his first goals for the club, ahead of the winner from Jay Rodriguez in stoppage time.

It was a sensational comeback, the likes of which haven't often been seen by Burnley fans, and Edgar was voted the star man for his two goal return, the first with a header and the second as he got onto a Sam Vokes knock down in the six yard box.

It was enough to win him both the man of the match vote and the player ratings with both finishing with the same top three.

He polled 60.8% of the man of the match vote and the only other player to get double figures was Marvin Bartley who took second place with a 12.0% share of the vote. Jay Rodriguez, scorer of that late winner, came third with 8.4% of the vote.

The player ratings brought up the same three in the top three and in the same order. Edgar won it with a rating of 7.33 out of 10. Bartley's rating of 7.07 won him second place and Jay Rodriguez finished third with a rating of 6.87 out of 10.

Edgar wins 6 points towards the Clarets Mad Player of the Year and there are four points for Bartley and two points for Rodriguez.

Those points have further strengthened Bartley's position at the top of the table. He now has a 13 point lead over Charlie Austin and Lee Grant. The points have seen Rodriguez move into joint fifth place and Edgar into joint seventh.
