Edgar will not play for Swansea again

Burnley defender David Edgar joined Swansea City on loan in the latter part of the 2009/10 season and there had been strong suggestions that the Canadian might return to the Liberty Stadium. Edgar played five times for the Welsh club, including the last game of the season against Doncaster when they failed to make the play offs. After initially playing in the centre he was moved to left back, although he did spend some time on the subs bench. In search of a new left back it was reported at the end of the season that no decision had been made on Edgar, but yesterday Swans' chairman Huw Jenkins made it quite clear that David Edgar would not play for Swansea City again. It is now believed they have turned their attentions to Wrexham left back Neil Taylor, a player who was linked with Burnley only last month.
