David Edgar wants to put last term's frustrations behind him and make his mark at Burnley.[LNB] The Canadian defender moved to Turf Moor from Newcastle last summer but found it difficult to break into the first team plans of Owen Coyle or current boss Brian Laws.[LNB]An end of season loan spell at Swansea allowed Edgar to find his feet again and he hopes to make an impression when the Clarets squad returns to pre-season training on July 1.[LNB]"It's a clean slate, a chance to play and hopefully get in the gaffer's mind to start come the start of the season," Edgar told the Lancashire Telegraph.[LNB]"It was good to get those games in the Championship at the back end of the season and find out what the league was all about. It was difficult but I was getting my head down and playing some games to hopefully doing enough to get in the gaffer's mind here.[LNB]"I am going to give it a right go, hopefully have a good pre-season and go from there. There's going to be a lot of competition but that's the only way to better yourself in football."[LNB]
