David Edgar's name has now been confirmed as another Burnley player who will be on his travels next week after being called up for a ten day training camp with Canada that includes friendlies against Japan and Belarus.

Canada fell at the last hurdle in the World Cup qualifiers but have set up this camp and these two games as part of the preparations for the CONCACAF Gold Cup which takes place in the USA in July.

The training camp is in Qatar and both games will be played there. They face Japan at the Khalifa Stadium on Doha on Friday 22nd March before meeting Belarus in the Aspire Stadium, also in Doha on Monday 25th March.

Edgar has made 15 appearances for his country, the last of which was the 8-1 hammering at the hands of Honduras that saw them exit the World Cup, but in those games they have also kept a total of eleven clean sheets and have conceded only 14 goals in total, including the eight in the last game.

He's one of only three English based players inthe squad, the others being Marcus Haber (Stevenage) and Simeon Jackson (Norwich).
