Edgar: Clarets can go up

urnley defender David Edgar is confident the club can still have a major say in the race for promotion this season.[LNB] Danny Fox became the latest player to leave Turf Moor last week after he joined Southampton for an undisclosed fee, joining Chris Iwelumo, Chris Eagles and Tyrone Mears through the exit door.[LNB]The Clarets took just 17 senior players to Crystal Palace on Saturday, where they lost 2-0 to suffer a first defeat of the season.[LNB]Yet Edgar said: "It's sad to see Danny go because he is a fantastic player but Brian Easton came in, like he did last season, and did well.[LNB]"These things happen in football and we have just to prove that the players we've got here, which everyone does believe, that we are good enough to make a promotion push and just go and play.[LNB]"Whatever happens outside the pitch is out of our hands. Everyone in the changing room believes and that's the main thing."
