Eckersley to sign for Plymouth

Richard Eckersley will become the second of Burnley's summer 2009 signings to go out on loan tomorrow when he completes a deal that will see him play in the Championship for the next month for Plymouth Argyle. Eckersley opted for Turf Moor last summer rather than sign a new deal with Manchester United, but he's found it difficult to force his way into the first team.He played in both of our Carling Cup ties with no success, getting himself a red card at Hartlepool and then being forced off at half time after a difficult first half showing at Barnsley in the next round.More recently he stood in for the suspended Tyrone Mears in the FA Cup tie at Milton Keynes Franchise in what proved to be Owen Coyle's last game as Burnley manager. At the beginning of this week a tribunal finally decided that we should pay £500,000 for the right back and Brian Laws said then we needed to get him some games, and that's what hopefully will happen down at Home Park for the next month.Laws said on the move: "Now everything is sorted out it's important that Richard plays some games. He will get that down there and we will keep a close eye on him and hopefully he will come back strong for the end of the season."
