Eagles close to new Clarets deal

urnley midfielder Chris Eagles is close to agreeing a new contract to stay at Turf Moor, according to reports.[LNB] Eagles is in the final year of his current Clarets deal and recently rejected a move to Rangers after Burnley accepted an offer.[LNB]Clarets boss Brian Laws remains determined to hang on to the 24-year-old and it is understood Eagles is ready to commit his future to the club.[LNB]The midfielder has scored 10 goals in almost 100 appearances for Burnley since joining the club from Manchester United two years ago.[LNB]He has made two substitute appearances in the Championship so far this season and is now set to stay part of Laws' long-term plans.
