Eagles all the way at Watford

I don't think it will come as any surprise to anyone at the game that Chris Eagles has just about walked away with the man of the match and the player ratings from our 3-1 win at Watford last Saturday. Eagles, who made 32 appearances in two loan spells with Watford, turned in a magical spell during the second half, scoring Burnley's second and then setting up Chris Iwelumo for the third. For a time during that second half he was almost unplayable and Watford had absolutely no answer to him.He walked the man of the match, polling 73.5% of the vote. Such was his share of the vote that no other player received double figures. Left back Danny Fox came second with 8.5% and a 4.0% share of the vote was enough to give Jack Cork third place.Things were no different in the player ratings. Eagles had a rating of 9.11 out of 10 and that's the first rating this season to go above nine. He was again some distance ahead with Fox again coming second with a rating of 7.58. Iwelumo, who scored his first away goal of the season, took third place with a rating of 7.42 out of 10.It gives Eagles the maximum six points towards the Clarets Mad Player of the Year. Fox picks up four points with one each for Cork and Iwelumo. With those points added it reduces Cork's lead at the top to fourteen points with Fox moving up a couple of places. The voting is currently underway for the Cardiff City game man of the match and ends at the end of tomorrow.Clarets Mad Player of the Year Table83: Jack Cork69: Chris Eagles36: Andre Bikey31: Clarke Carlisle30: Tyrone Mears25: Wade Elliott & Lee Grant23: Jay Rodriguez17: Dean Marney15: Michael Duff & Danny Fox14: Chris Iwelumo11: Brian Jensen9: Brian Easton8: Ross Wallace6: Martin Paterson3: Leon Cort, John Guidetti, Steven Thompson1: Graham Alexander & Charlie Austin
