Dyche not worried by goal-shy side

Boss Sean Dyche insisted he was never worried about Burnley's lack of goals after they ended their record drought.

Michael Kightly scored the Clarets' first goal in 10 hours and 55 minutes of action, setting a new club record by four minutes.

Ross Wallace's stoppage-time free kick salvaged a 2-2 draw as Burnley lifted themselves off the bottom of the Barclays Premier League.

Jeff Schlupp and Riyad Mahrez twice put Leicester in front but the visitors battled back and Dyche insisted the goals would always come.

He said "A lot was made of it. I know we're creating chances but the rest of it is opinion. I thought we made a lot of good chances and it's about the quality of chance. We want chances which are really open but we are making nearly chances.

"It's been coming and it was a moment of real talent from Ross and the first was a fantastic little clip from Scott Arfield to Lukas (Jutkiewicz) and Kites is on the spot. It was a really good move and it's important we find that within our play."

It was a deserved point for the Clarets as they improved after last week's 4-0 defeat at West Brom to move off the bottom on goal difference.

"I was really pleased with the performance, me speaking about it wouldn't be different if we'd lost, but the point adds a bit of gloss to it," added Dyche.

"We deserved a point. Whatever happens you have to move forward. I felt we were dominant."

But Leicester boss Nigel Pearson revealed his frustration after admitting he was annoyed at the Foxes' failure to hang on at the King Power Stadium.

Wallace struck deep into seven minutes of injury time to deny the hosts a second home win of the season.

He said: "I'm annoyed today, we should win the game. We're better than we were last season and I don't think they are as good as they were on today's performance but what they do have is spirit.

"It's disappointing to drop two points because whatever the circumstances are we should have won the game. I don't think they caused us too many problems.

"It was scrappy game, they didn't come here to play any fluid football, they came to be difficult to beat. We didn't do enough with the ball but we still looked comfortable.

"It felt like a Championship game, there was not a great deal of fluidity to it."
