Michael Duff came into the side at Wigan for the injured Clarke Carlisle and, playing alongside Leon Cort, was Burnley's best player over the ninety minutes. Despite losing Hugo Rodallega in that fateful third minute of stoppage time, his performance won him both the man of the match vote and the player ratings on the message board in what was his first appearance since the game at Bolton, and just his sixth Premier League appearance. He romped away with the man of the match, polling 49.2% of the vote. Midfielder Kevin McDonald took second place with 13.3% and Martin Paterson was third with 12.2% of the vote.In the player ratings he was way ahead of the rest with a rating of 8.00 out of 10. Defensive partner Cort was a clear second with a rating of 7.09 and there were three players in joint third place. They were goalkeeper Brian Jensen, left back Stephen Jordan, starting for the first time since Old Trafford, and McDonald.Duff won six points towards the Clarets Mad Player of the Year, there were three points for McDonald, two for Cort and one each for Jensen, Jordan and Paterson. With only Jensen in the top five winning any points there is little change. Chris Eagles still has a fifteen point lead over Steven Fletcher at the top with third place Andre Bikey a further ten points behind. The Current Table65: Chris Eagles50: Steven Fletcher40: Andre Bikey35: Tyrone Mears33: Brian Jensen26: Clarke Carlisle19: Kevin McDonald17: Stephen Jordan16: Michael Duff15: Martin Paterson14: Wade Elliott13: David Nugent10: Graham Alexander & Robbie Blake9: Jack Cork & Leon Cort8: David Edgar6: Fernando Guerrero5: Chris McCann4: Danny Fox & Joey Gudjonsson2: Diego Penny & Steven Thompson1: Steven Caldwell
