Burnley boss Owen Coyle has been rewarded for guiding his side to an unbeaten month after being named the Championship manager of the month for September.
The Clarets won four and drew one of their Championship games, while also dumping Premier League side Fulham out of the Carling Cup during a successful month.
Coyle won the award ahead of Wolves boss Mick McCarthy, Paul Sturrock of Plymouth Argyle and Reading's Steve Coppell.
"It is always a tremendous accolade, but it is a credit to the football club and everyone involved," he told the club's official website.
"Obviously as a figurehead, I am delighted to accept the award, but it is through the hard work that everyone has put in and it's a collective award for the club, so we will all share it."
Coyle also dedicated the award to defender Russell Anderson, who has been ruled out of the rest of the campaign with knee ligament damage.
