Burnley manager Owen Coyle has denied that his club have made an official offer for Swansea City striker Jason Scotland.
The 30-year-old Trinidad & Tobago international has been interesting the Clarets following their promotion to the Premier League, but Coyle says that no formal bid has been tabled.
He told the Lancashire Evening Telegraph: "At no time have we made a written offer for Jason Scotland.
"There was just a private conversation between Brendan Flood and Huw Jenkins where they spoke about the player.
"I've always said that we are discreet and will always keep our business close to our chest."
Scotland has scored 53 goals in 105 appearances for the Swans since his arrival from St Johnstone in the summer of2007.
