Coyle cool after Clarets start

Manager Owen Coyle refused to get carried away after seeing Burnley complete a superb week with a 1-0 victory over Everton at Turf Moor.

A Wade Elliott strike gave the Clarets a famous win, just days after they had seen off champions Manchester United by the same scoreline.

Coyle said: "We started the game at such a terrific pace and then I thought we scored during Everton's best spell of the half.

"I felt over the course of the game we were the better team.

"I don't think they cut us open too often and our goalkeeper did not have too many saves to make.

"It was enjoyable and it is another three points, but that is all it is.

"We've had a great week but that is all it has been. There is so much more ahead of us, so much hard work."
