Coyle: We'll play the right way

The Gunners have become used to rough treatment at the hands of other Lancashire clubs beginning with a 'B' - Bolton and Blackburn have in the past both been criticised by Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger for their overly-physical approach.[LNB]The lingering resentment towards ex-Blackburn manager Mark Hughes was highlighted by Wenger's refusal to shake his hand after Arsenal's Carling Cup defeat by Manchester City, but Coyle insists he is full of admiration for the Frenchman.[LNB]He also believes his budget Burnley bargains can still go "toe to toe" with Arsenal and yet stay true to their own belief in playing the game the right way.[LNB]Coyle said: "Arsene's a top-class manager and he's someone us young managers aspire to follow in terms of teams playing football of that nature.[LNB]"He's had to build new teams because he's lost some top, top stars and he's continued to find young players and bring them through.[LNB]"I can only speak about our relationship and I'm full of admiration for him - he's always been very gracious to me and always had a word for me."[LNB]This will be the fourth time Coyle has pitted his wits against Wenger - Arsenal have won on two occasions but Burnley enjoyed a famous Carling Cup victory last season - and he says there is no plan to put brawn before technique on Wednesday.[LNB]Coyle added: "If you watch our team, we look to play football. We don't have overly-physical players in our team.[LNB]"We like to think we are competitive but there has always been good football in games between ourselves and Arsenal and I don't see any reason why that should be any different tomorrow night."[LNB]Coyle believes his players are still not getting the recognition they deserve despite having already secured 18 points, and boasting an enviable home record where they have lost just once and already taken the scalp of Manchester United.[LNB]He added: "Derby were relegated with 11 points with double the budget that we have got so we are doing this against all the odds.[LNB]"We know we have moved the goalposts in terms of expectation now, but we have only spent £4million to assemble this team, which is the smallest budget known to the Premier League and the players have not had the credit they deserve.[LNB]"We have spent £9million and brought in £5million, and we don't have any bona fide Premier League players, just some who have had fleeting glimpses of it.[LNB]"Yet we have shown at Turf Moor in particular we can go toe to toe with the very best and we are sitting here with 18 points having worked our socks off to get them."[LNB]Coyle believes Arsenal should be regarded as genuine title contenders.[LNB]He said: "This is an Arsenal team who were written off a few weeks ago and now find themselves six points off the lead with a game in hand, they are right in the frame to be the champions of England.[LNB]"They are a side to behold in full flight and we have to ensure they are not in full flight and earn the right to impose our game on them.[LNB]"I believe we can, and that we can earn points from this game."[LNB][LNB] Burnley v Arsenal.
