The 19-year-old Independiente del Valle player impressed for the Clarets during their recent pre-season tour of America. Discussions were delayed due to Independiente's president being away on holiday, but Coyle is now hoping for further progress early next week. The Turf Moor boss told Sky Sports News: "He is a player we like. "We've continued a bit of dialogue with his club and we will probably know more at the start of the week. "He is an exciting young player and we'll see what comes of it." Coyle has other irons in the fire with the start of the new Premier League season looming large as Burnley look to test themselves against England's elite. The Clarets boss remains keen to bring in more new face and insists that any new signings will be made with the long-term future of the club in mind. He added: "We're still working on other things. "I think we all realise that budget-wise we will be at the very bottom by Premier League standards. "But it won't stop us looking to bring in young, exciting players in that we think we can improve and that will serve the club well for years to come. "It's not about today or tomorrow, we're trying to put in place a plan for the longevity of the football club."
