Coyle: Moyes is terrific manager

Burnley manager Owen Coyle has backed Everton counterpart David Moyes' handling of the Joleon Lescott affair and believes his fellow Scot will do what is best for the Toffees.[LNB]The England defender has been pursued by Manchester City, who have had two bids rejected, and he has had a transfer request rejected by the club.[LNB]Lescott played in the club's disastrous 6-1 defeat to Arsenal in their opening Premier League fixture but was dropped for Thursday night's Europa League defeat of Sigma Olomouc because of his poor attitude.[LNB]Coyle, who will come face to face with his friend Moyes when their two sides meet at Turf Moor on Sunday, feels the Everton boss has done things correctly.[LNB]"I don't know if he can win. I've had a couple of experiences of similar situations and as a manager you don't want to be losing your best players," he said.[LNB]"But ultimately the players don't want to be there and you have to do what is best for the football club and I have no doubts David Moyes will do that when and if the time is right.[LNB]"As he said last week, if someone wants to know the answer to whether Joleon Lescott is leaving Everton they should ring him because he makes the decisions.[LNB]"I know how hard he works and the work ethic he has got. This week he has shown no-one will mess Everton about and he made his point and the boys responded with an emphatic victory last night.[LNB]"That is terrific management from him, but no-one needs to tell me how good he is as I've seen it over the years.[LNB]"I thought everything about him was first class."[LNB][LNB]
