After a year with Kidderminster Harriers, former Burnley defender Duane Courtney has opted for a move to fellow Blue Square Premier club York City for the 2010/11 season. Courtney spent the 2005/06 season at Burnley after being recommended by former Claret Neil Howarth. He left in August 2006 and spent three seasons with The New Saints in the Welsh Premier League before signing for Kidderminster last summer where he again teamed up with Howarth who was by then assistant to manager Mark Yates. Now playing exclusively at right back, he was a regular in the Kidderminster side last season and played no fewer than fifty games for them, but at the end of the season decided it was time to move on and joined a York side who missed out on a return to the Football League when they lost the play off final against Oxford United.Courtney made just eight first team appearances for Burnley with all but one of them coming from the substitutes bench. His only start, at right back, was in the explosive 3-2 win at Luton in November 2005.
