Cotterill in at Notts County

23 February 2010 15:55
This morning it looked as though Notts County could have been going into administration, but this afternoon that's been averted and former Burnley boss Steve Cotterill has been appointed as their new manager. Notts County have had three managers previously this season. They started with Ian McParland but he predictably lost his job as the circus under Sven Goran Eriksson got underway.Hans Backe was appointed but as the problems mounted he was soon on his way with former Burnley assistant Dave Kevan taking charge. Dave didn't want the job on a permanent basis but was prepared to continue until the end of the season if necessary.Today the new owners have confirmed that administration has been avoided and that Cotterill will take over with immediate effect. For the third time, following Stoke and Burnley, Dave Kevan will work as his assistant. This is Steve's first management role since leaving Burnley in November 2007.
