Cort loan extended

Burnley reported earlier in the week that they were negotiating with Preston to extend Leon Cort's loan at Deepdale for a further month, but it all went quiet after both managers were sacked on Wednesday. It looked as though Cort might be on his way out of Deepdale along with all the other loan players at Preston but Burnley have now confirmed that Cort's loan has been extended. He's played three of a potential four games during his first month, but injury kept him out of their last game on Wednesday. He's turned in three good performances, according to what's been said at the Preston end, during which they have conceded only one goal. He'll now remain at Deepdale until 23rd January.
