Cork and Eagles pull further away

Another game and the top two, Jack Cork and Chris Eagles, have pulled further away towards the Clarets Mad Player of the Year as they both picked up points from the FA Cup win against Port Vale. No one could have a word of criticism over the selection of Eagles who had an assist on the first goal, won the free kick from which we scored the second, scored the third and played the ball for Mears who won the penalty for the fourth.Still hampered by the back injury that forced him out of the side for a few games, he's almost back to the form he showed earlier in the season and it was no surprise to see him collect 43.2% of the vote towards the man of the match.Cork was running him close before ending with 31.6% for second place whilst a 12.3% share of the vote ensured Mears finished third.It was similar in the player ratings. Eagles was again in front with a rating of 7.88 out of 10. He was followed this time by Mears whose rating was 7.65 whilst a rating of 7.35 gave Cork third place.Eagles, therefore, wins the maximum six points towards the Player of the Year with both Cork and Mears winning three points.
