Midfielder Jack Cork has come back into the Burnley side for the last two games and played well in both. At Sunderland last Saturday he played well enough to win both the man of the match and the message board player ratings. It was a three way contest with Cork coming out on top in both. He polled 24.3% of the man of the match vote, just ahead of goalkeeper Brian Jensen whose share was 21.5%. In third place was substitute Steven Thompson, who came on at half time for Martin Paterson and scored the Burnley goal.It was the same top three in the player ratings and again it was Cork on top with a rating of 7.79 out of 10. Again, behind him were Jensen and Thompson and this time these two could not be separated and both had ratings of 7.14 out of 10.Cork wins six points towards the Clarets Mad Player of the Year, Jensen gets four points and there are three for Thompson. The points take Brian Jensen into fourth place in the table, and Cork moves up to eighth despite his limited number of games.Again the points don't affect the top of this the table with Chris Eagles now on the verge of becoming the player of the year. Steven Fletcher, the only player able to pass him, is currently twelve points behind him.The Current Table65: Chris Eagles53: Steven Fletcher40: Andre Bikey38: Brian Jensen35: Tyrone Mears26: Clarke Carlisle25: Michael Duff23: Jack Cork21: Kevin McDonald18: Stephen Jordan17: David Nugent16: Martin Paterson15: Graham Alexander14: Wade Elliott12: Robbie Blake9: Leon Cort8: David Edgar6: Fernando Guerrero5: Chris McCann & Steven Thompson4: Danny Fox & Joey Gudjonsson2: Diego Penny1: Steven Caldwell
