Cork gets most points from Reading game

29 October 2010 10:22
The Reading game last Saturday was a bit of a disaster but still the points have to be awarded towards the Clarets Mad Player of the Year, and it is Jack Cork who has come out on top. Cork won the man of the match vote with just over a third of the vote, 33.7% to be exact and that was some way ahead of Chris Eagles in second place. He polled 14.1% with Wade Elliott getting third place with 11.9% of the vote.Onto the player ratings, and such was the performance that not one single player reached a rating of 6 which is for an average performance, meaning those who got the points here were those whose below average performances were better than the rest.Tyrone Mears took top spot with a rating of 5.76 out of 10 and that was just ahead of Cork and goalkeeper Brian Jensen who both had a rating of 5.74 out of 10.As always the points have been awarded with Jack Cork winning five points, three to Mears, two each for Eagles and Jensen with Elliott getting one point. That has made a difference to the Clarets Mad Player of the Year with Cork now going into second place, four points ahead of Andre Bikey and seven behind leader Chris Eagles.Voting is currently underway following our Carling Cup game at Aston Villa. Please note that voting for the man of the match for this game will run until the end of Saturday meaning the QPR man of the match vote will not start until Sunday.Clarets Mad Player of the Year Table41: Chris Eagles34: Jack Cork30: Andre Bikey16: Wade Elliott14: Clarke Carlisle13: Chris Iwelumo11: Brian Jensen6: Dean Marney5: Jay Rodriguez4: Tyrone Mears3: LeonCort2: Steven Thompson & Ross Wallace1: Graham Alexander & Danny Fox
