14 March 2011 17:21
Burnley's two loan players Jack Cork and Nathan Delfouneso have both been called up again for England under-21s but for Jay Rodriguez it is waiting time as he's been placed on standby. Stuart Pearce's squad have two upcoming games. The first is against Denmark a week on Thursday, 24th March, at the Viborg Stadium in Viborg and on the following Monday they are back home for a game against Iceland at Deepdale, home of Preston North End.Whilst Jay was making his debut in the recent friendly against Italy, coming on as a substitute for James Vaughan, it was a tenth cap for Cork, also as a substitute for Jack Rodwell, after making his debut against the Czech Republic in November 2008.Delfouneso has five caps to his name and scored his only goal so far on his debut against Greece at Doncaster in March last year. He started the recent game in Italy but was replaced on the hour as part of a triple substitution that saw Jay come on.Whilst Jay must sit and wait to see if he gets a call up, Cork and Delfouneso will join up with the England party after our game at Bristol City on Saturday. The full squad to follow.
