Conlan plays in Czech draw

Northern Ireland's UEFA European Under 19 campaign got underway last night when they played the Czech Republic at Dungannon and came out with a creditable 1-1 draw.

Joey Jones from Leicester equalised a 60th minute opener from the Czechs within four minutes but for Burnley fans the interest was in Luke Conlan who played the full ninety minutes at left back just under a year after he made his under 17 debut for his country against Moldova.

The other game in the group, that between Greece and Moldova, also ended in a draw (0-0) and so all four go into the remaining games with plenty to play for.

Conlan is expected to retain his place for the remaining games which are against Greece tomorrow and Moldova on Monday.
