Burnley loan striker Andrew Cole has hinted that he may call time on his illustrious career at the end of the current campaign.

The 36-year-old former England frontman marked his full Clarets debut with a goal in the 1-1 draw with Colchester United at the weekend, having moved to Turf Moor on loan from Sunderland.

Cole told the Daily Star: "I had never played at Burnley before, but I spoke to Owen Coyle and his enthusiasm for wanting to play football and wanting me to come and enjoy myself was enough.

"I really want to try and finish on a high. When I get to the end of the season I'll make my mind up whether I want to play on."

Former England international Cole has enjoyed an sparkling career, including spells with Newcastle United, Manchester United, Blackburn Rovers, Fulham and Manchester City.

He has also won 15 caps for England and has nearly 300 senior goals to his name in all competitions.
