Clattenburg named as the season's first referee

The Football League have confirmed that the referee for our opening day fixture against Bolton Wanderers is Select Group referee Mark Clattenburg.

The County Durham based referee's last Burnley game was in September for our Carling Cup game against Bolton, a game we won 1-0 with a goal from Wade Elliott.

There will be more on Clattenburg on Friday ahead of the game.
