Clarets reject takeover talk

Burnley have rubbished reports claiming they are in negotiations with a consortium headed by former England midfielder Peter Reid looking to takeover the Championship club.
The former Leeds United, Sunderland and Manchester City manager was the reported figurehead of a group interested in taking control at Turf Moor, but operational director Brendan Flood insists the board are not looking for outside investment.
"We have had no contact from any consortium, nor from Peter Reid, and even if we did it would be a waste of time," he told the club's official website.
"We have just got ourselves into a position to take the club forward and we have our own plans to do this over the coming weeks, months and years."
