Clarets ponder Jones loan

Burnley boss Owen Coyle is mulling over a couple of loan approaches for Clarets striker Steve Jones.

The 31-year-old Northern Ireland frontman has yet to feature for Coyle's side this season, having ended the last campaign on loan at former club Crewe Alexandra.

Coyle told the club's official website: "I have had a chat with Steve and, given the level he has played at and the experience he's had, I wouldn't be adverse to him going out for a month to get match fitness.

"We will wait and see what comes of that.

"There have been a couple of clubs enquired, but we need to decide the best thing for Steve and the football club."

Jones moved to Turf Moor in the summer of 2006, but has scored just six goals in 65 appearances.
