Clarets land winger Wallace

Burnley have swooped on neighbours Preston North End to sign winger Ross Wallace for an undisclosed fee on a three-year contract.

The 25-year-old Scotsman had spent the last two seasons with the Lilywhites, scoring 12 goals in 89 appearances in all competitions.

Clarets boss Brian Laws told his club's official website: "We are delighted to have secured the signing of Ross.

"He is one of the best left-sided players in the Championship and having him here will add even more to a strong midfield department.

"He is a natural left-sided player and I am sure he will make an immediate impact with the supporters with his ability to manoeuvre the ball and the quality of his delivery.

"He will give us an added balance to the team and I am delighted with this bit of business in getting a player who I believe will be coming to his peak."
