Burnley manager Owen Coyle has admitted that the Clarets could be forced to sell Kyle Lafferty if Fulham match their valuation of the Northern Ireland forward.
The Premier League side made a bid of £3million for Lafferty in August which was rejected at the time by ex-manager Steve Cotterill.
However, Lawrie Sanchez is reportedly still interested in adding Lafferty to his squad, but has been told to improve his offer from the summer by Coyle.
"I'm keen to keep my best players but, football being football, people will look at him," said the former St Johnstone manager.
"There comes a time when business kicks in and, if a young player gets a good offer that could benefit him, it is something the club will look at.
"But I do feel he would benefit from playing another year at Burnley at least to help him develop."
Lafferty has only scored one goal this term for the Clarets but is highly-rated at Turf Moor and is seen as one of the hottest talents in the Championship.
Sanchez also worked with Lafferty at international level when the ex-Wycombe boss was in charge of Northern Ireland.
