Clarets consider Driver swoop
06 Jul 2009 - 13:14:52
Burnley have emerged as potential suitors for highly-rated Hearts midfielder Andrew Driver.
Driver, 21, has recently returned from international duty with England at the Under-21 European Championships in Sweden.
But the Oldham-born youngster could be making the move to the Premier League with the Clarets should they agree a fee with the Edinburgh club.
Burnley boss Owen Coyle has already signed Scotland striker Steven Fletcher from Hibs in a £3million deal following their promotion to the top-flight.
Defenders David Edgar and Tyrone Mears have also joined from Newcastle United and Derby County respectively.
However, Hearts manager Csaba Laszlo is not anticipating losing the £3million-rated youngster this summer.
"After the training camp in Germany, he will be back training with us," he said recently.
"He can have a holiday and then join up with the rest of the team after that."
