Burnley have completed the signing of Scunthorpe United striker Martin Paterson in a deal that could eventually rise to £1.3million.
The 21-year-old Northern Ireland international has signed a four-year deal with the Clarets.
The initial transfer fee is £1million, but that could rise by another £300,000 depending on appearances, while Scunthorpe will also receive 20 per cent of the profit of any future sale of the forward.
Manager Owen Coyle told the club's official website: "I'm absolutely delighted to have Martin on board at Burnley.
"I admired him even when I was managing in Scotland and he was always a prime target of mine this summer.
"I'm excited to have signed such a young, hungry striker who is keen to score goals and I feel sure he will be a success at Turf Moor."
Paterson scored 14 goals in 42 appearances as The Iron were relegated from the Championship last term.
