Clarets challenge excites Eagles
30 Jul 2008 - 11:51:22
Midfielder Chris Eagles believes he has made the right decision by leaving Manchester United and signing for Burnley.
The 22-year-old was restricted to only seven starts during his time at Old Trafford and is keen to become a first-team regular with the Clarets.
"I believe this is the next step into what I believe is a good career," Eagles told the club's official website.
"It's been a big decision for me. I've just come back from a tour (in South Africa) with Manchester United and I feel I've had a good tour, but I'm looking forwards now.
"I've loved every minute at United and I love them to pieces, but I believe it's time now to think of myself and my own future.
"It's no good just playing a game now and again. I need to be playing every week and showing people what I can do.
"I'm not scared. The main thing is getting use to my team-mates, which will be hard because I've been at Manchester United for seven years."
