Clarets capture Coughlan
22 Mar 2007 - 12:37:30
Burnley have signed defender Graham Coughlan on loan from Championship rivals Sheffield Wednesday.
The 32-year-old has been in and out of the first team at Hillsborough since the turn of the year and has been allowed to join the Clarets until the end of the season.
Burnley are currently in the midst of 17-game winless streak and have slipped down to 18th place in the Championship table.
"Graham Coughlan requested to go on loan because he wants to get his head down and play regular first-team football," Wednesday manager Brian Laws told the club's official website.
"Due to the recent performances of Lee Bullen and Richard Wood, plus the fact we have Steve Watson and Tommy Spurr as cover, we felt it appropriate for Graham to go out on loan until the end of the season."
