Clarets axe Karbassiyoon

Burnley have decided to release defender Danny Karbassiyoon after an injury-blighted 12 months at Turf Moor.
The former Arsenal stopper snubbed a return to loan club Ipswich in favour of linking up with the Clarets on a two-year deal last summer, but the switch has turned into a nightmare for him.
Injury problems ruled him out of the start of last season and, on his recovery, he never progressed beyond being a substitute in boss Steve Cotterill's first team.
After being placed on the transfer list Karbassiyoon failed to secure a pre-season switch to Dutch side AZ Alkmaar before a fresh injury struck to keep him out of the Clarets' preparations.
He will now head back to the United Stares following the termination of his contract.
Cotterill told the club's official website: "Danny has been extremely unlucky with injuries from the first time he came to the club and, after seeing a couple of specialists, it is probably best that he gives his injury time to settle."
