Clarets appeal Carlisle dismissal

urnley have lodged an appeal over Clarke Carlisle's dismissal in Saturday's 1-1 draw at Millwall. Carlisle was show a red card just seven minutes into the game, and boss Brian Laws is hopeful the veteran will not face a ban. "We are obviously disappointed and having analysed it, we feel it is harsh," he told his club's official website. "We are aware of the need to be sure about such an appeal, but we feel strongly enough that there is a case to answer to overturn the decision."
