Burnley's search for new young talent is being extended with the appointment of Paul Wozny as Head of Youth Australasia. Aryn Williams - in the current youth squadYorkshireman Wozny is now based in Perth in Western Australia and his new role will see him act as Burnley's representative in Australia, Oceania and South-East Asia as we continue to stretch the boundaries in our search for new talent. He runs coaching and development programmes in Western Australia and holds a UEFA 'A' licence and the FA Academy Manager's Licence having previously worked at both Huddersfield Town and Bradford City in their academy and centre of excellence respectively.Since emigrating to Australia he's worked with Perth Glory and held the posts of Head of the National Training Centre and more recently High Performance Consultant for Football West. Over the past two years has established a number of High Performance Centres throughout the State with more centres planned for Malaysia and Singapore during next year. These centres are now to be used as a talent development programme for Burnley and will be similar to one operated by top Dutch club Ajax in South Africa.Wozny said: "The football business is now truly global and Asia with its desire, large playing numbers and infrastructure is without doubt a sleeping giant. I am confident that Burnley Football Club can experience similar gains to Ajax's presence in South Africa and this development will not only increase brand exposure for the club but will open up potential pathways for some exceptional talent."My role as Head of Youth Australasia is a very exciting prospect and I am looking forward to building a long lasting link through Asia on behalf of Burnley Football Club."Burnley's Director of Youth, Martin Dobson, who has already introduced one young Australian to the youth squad this summer in Aryn Williams, said of the appointment: "A lot of British clubs have representation in that part of the world and this is a good way for us to do a similar thing. We are just trying to find another potential source."Paul is ideally suited to the role. He knows the standard we are looking for and there is the possibility now of sending promising players, who have the right qualifications, over to us to see how they compare with their particular age group."
