Clarets win performance award again

For the second time in six weeks an away win has landed Burnley the League Managers Association's Performance of the Week award. The win at West Ham won it and we've now been selected following our win at Middlesbrough.

The award, the F&C Thames River Performance of the Week Award to give it its full title, is selected by a panel of LMA members made up of chairman Howard Wilkinson, Sir Alex Ferguson, Joe Royle, Dave Bassett and Barry Fry.

Winning it twice in such a short space of time, and from two difficult away games, is a fantastic achievement. We also won the award twice during the 2008/09 for performances away from home, at Chelsea in the Carling Cup and at Reading in the Championship play offs.

The specially engraved crystal vase will be presented to manager Eddie Howe tomorrow and will be shown this Saturday on Sky Soccer Saturday.
