The oft reliable Bournemouth Echo were suggesting that a request for permission to speak to Howe could follow in the next few days but It didn't make much sense to be honest.
Chairman of Bournemouth is Eddie Mitchell and he appears to have been the main reason why our manager was doing his utmost to get out at the end of 2010 and the beginning of 2011. He was linked with a number of jobs and just days before accepting the job at Turf Moor he turned down offers from both Charlton and Crystal Palace.
It seems hardly likely that he'd want to go and work for Mitchell again, and, having made massive changes at Burnley in terms of personnel, both on and off the field, there seems to be no logical reason why he would want to walk away from that, his own structure, and start again at a level lower than where he's working now.
Whether Bournemouth, who are also linked with former Burnley boss Steve Cotterill, do make a move remains to be seen but Echo have, this morning, reported that Burnley chief exec Lee Hoos has said: "Burnley Football Club would not welcome any approach for Eddie Howe from any club.
"We are in the process of building for the future with Eddie and his staff, and speculation is an unwanted distraction."
