Clarets wait on Marney

Burnley boss Eddie Howe could be without midfielder Dean Marney for the crunch trip to play-off rivals Leeds. Marney sustained a knee injury against Middlesbrough earlier this month and Howe says that, despite making progress in his recovery, he may not play again this term. Striker Martin Paterson played an hour for the reserves against Preston in midweek. The Northern Ireland international has been out since February after suffering a recurrence of a thigh strain which has blighted his season. However, he has progressed well in training and, having made a successful return in the reserves, could line up on the bench at Leeds. Striker Charlie Austin remains sidelined for the rest of the season with a dislocated shoulder.
