Clarets set to miss out on Shackell
It looks as though Burnley's attempts to sign central defender Jason Shackell are over with Derby favourites to land him over Portsmouth. Despite Barnsley suggesting there had been no offer from Turf Moor for Shackell it looks very much as though Burnley did make an offer. However, it looks certain that Shackell has opted for a move to Derby where a lot of changes are taking place in terms of the squad over this summer. That will leave Eddie Howe looking at other defensive targets after missing out on his first choice.
