Clarets seeded in COCUP

When Blackpool went out of the Capital One Cup on Sunday, beaten at home by Morecambe, it ensured Burnley would be seeded in the second round, provided we could overcome Port Vale.

We won through last night and we comfortably reached the seeded group with Cardiff, Brighton and Derby also finding the exit door from the competition against lower league opposition.

The draw is today, around 12:30 p.m. and will be shown live on Sky Sports News. Joining the 35 1st round winners are Blackburn and Bolton and the thirteen Premier League clubs not involved in European football this season.

That's a total of 25 ties with the winners being joined by the remaining seven Premier League clubs in round three.
