Clarets off to winning start
urnley survived a second-half fightback by Altrincham to run out 4-2 winners at Moss Lane in their opening summer friendly.[LNB] Eddie Howe's Clarets dominated the first half and went in at the break 3-0 up thanks to goals from Alex MacDonald, Chris Eagles and Martin Paterson.[LNB]But Blue Square Bet North side Altrincham hit back after the restart with two free headers from Nick Chadwick in as many minutes hauling his side back into the match.[LNB]But Burnley striker Chris Iwelumo restored the visitors' two-goal lead in the 67th minute when he added a fourth from Wade Elliott's cross.[LNB]
