The Wales Under-21 international is currently on loan from Premier League strugglers Middlesbrough and has impressed during his 11 appearances for the Clarets. But James believes it will depend on Boro's plight next season to determine whether boss Gareth Southgate will let the 20-year-old leave the Riverside. James told the Lancashire Telegraph: "Burnley will probably want to sign him in the summer but if you look at Middlesbrough, if they go down they may have to let some of their high earners go so he might get a run in the side there. "But I don't think it will be long now before John Toshack [Wales' manager] puts him in the senior team for Wales because he's a very good player."
