Clarets land Kiwi rookie

ew Zealand international Cameron Howieson has signed a two-year scholarship at Burnley.[LNB] The attacking midfielder becomes the fourth new addition to the Clarets' youth ranks after helping his country reach the last 16 of this summer's Under-17 World Cup finals in Mexico.[LNB]Howieson, who arrives from the Mosgiel club in New Zealand, was brought to Burnley's attention by former Clarets full-back Ian Brennan.[LNB]Director of youth Martin Dobson told the club's official website: "We are always looking and if there is a recommendation then we will pursue it.[LNB]"We are trying to get talented young players in. Obviously the north west is a very competitive area and we are prepared to spread the net wide.[LNB]"Cameron came in at the end of last season and had a couple of training sessions with the youth team. We liked the look of him and we wanted to take it further so we offered him a scholarship."
