Clarets keen to tie down Rodriguez

urnley manager Brian Laws wants to offer striker Jay Rodriguez a new long-term contract in a bid to keep the talented youngster at Turf Moor.[LNB] The 21-year-old, a regular in Laws' starting line-up this season, is in the final year of his current deal and Laws wants to tie him to his hometown club.[LNB]Laws said: "We are mindful that he is coming out of contract. We spoke to him weeks ago about improving his contract.[LNB]"I said once we got this international break out of the way we will sit down with his agent and hopefully progress something with him because we want to keep him.[LNB]"He is young, he is a local boy and he loves the place. He's not going anywhere."
