Clarets in driving seat for winger

The Clarets were chasing the player last summer, but Driver eventually penned a five-year contract to stay at Tynecastle. But after Burnley's promotion to the Premier League, Owen Coyle has registered his interest once again in the player. Hearts have slapped a £5million price tag on the 21-year-old, who has been given permission to sit out Hearts' pre-season trip to Germany following his exploits with England's Under-21s in Sweden. Coyle is believed to be ready to offer around £3million for the Oldham-born wideman, who made his debut for England U21s in their 1-1 group draw with Germany. However Twente, managed by former England boss Steven McClaren, are understood to have also enquired about Driver, while Hearts manager Csaba Laszlo believes Driver would benefit from one more season at Tynecastle. "Andrew Driver needs a little bit more time with us," Laszlo said. "I think next season, if he can play very well with us and stays injury-free, maybe we can talk about his future. "But this is a young player who improved a lot last season. "We must care about our players. I think it's my job to care about the players. He listens to me. "I think Andy will play for Heart of Midlothian next season."
