Clarets hit four at Padiham

Burnley's development squad secured a 4-0 win against Padiham at the Arbories this evening with four different players finding the net. Wes Fletcher - opened the scoringBurnley dominated the first half hour and should probably have had more than the two goals they did score. The first of them was expertly finished by Wes Fletcher after a move involving Chris Anderson and Michael King, and it was King himself who doubled the lead soon after.By then we'd already lost one player with Alex-Ray Harvey forced off with an injury. It had unsettled us for a period but Archie Love, on as a substitute, soon got into the game alongside the once again impressive Anderson. We lost our way a bit in the closing stages of the first half and Padiham did have the ball in the net only for the referee to blow for a foul and early in the second half they came close when they hit a shot against substitute Ben Woodhead's left hand post. But Burnley got back into the game and two goals in quick succession from captain Chris Lynch and Alex MacDonald wrapped up the 4-0 win.C oach Ash Hoskin took the opportunity to bring on some subs and it gave us a first look at Arun Williams who came on for Dean Overson at right back. All in all, a decent night for the lads who get their league season underway in two weeks time. The Burnley team was: Diego Penny (Ben Woodhead), Dean Overson (Arun Williams), Chris Lynch, Kevin Long, Steve Edwards, Dom Knowles, Chris Anderson, Alex-Ray Harvey (Archie Love), Michael King, Alex MacDonald, Wes Fletcher (Ross Wilson).
