Chappy to stay down south at Southampton

Former Claret Richard Chaplow was pushed out into the cold at Preston by Darren Ferguson and even a move to another Championship club was blocked at the time. He finally got out and moved to Southampton on loan, a club he'd played with previously during the 2005/06 season. Having struggled with injuries for a while he's now fit and has played ten games for the Saints since Nigel Adkins signed him. He's impressed too and has now agreed a two and a half year deal at St. Mary's. The transfer will be concluded once the window opens this Saturday with Chaplow expected to feature later in the day in their home game against Exeter.
