Carlisle is star at Ipswich

Clarke Carlisle stepped up to head home the equaliser in stoppage time to earn the Clarets a draw at Portman Road last Saturday, but it was his assured performance at the back that won him the maximum points towards the Clarets Mad Player of the Year. Clarke was on the bench for the opening game but replaced the injured Michael Duff on the half hour. His form since has suggested he'll take some displacing and this, his first full game at this level since he was man of the match at Wembley, was another outstanding performance from him.In the man of the match vote he came top with 33.4% of the vote and that was a good lead over Wade Elliott who claimed 23.0% and third place. Andre Bikey, who was the star of the show in the opener against Nottingham Forest, was third with 16.9% of the vote.The two central defenders were also in the top three on the message board's player ratings. Again Carlisle was the winner with a rating of 8.09 out of 10 whilst Bikey wasn't far behind, his rating was 8.00.
